Does one size fit all?

From its humble beginnings, it is heartening to see that yoga has now spread to every nook and niche corner in this world; and has hence evolved. Truly it evolves in every teacher and in every class. Most of it has been assimilated into varied disciplines and exercise routines and at this point you would not even know that you might be doing it as a part of your pilates or some other stretching or aerobic routine!

It is important to understand that our bodies, our minds, and consequently our progress may not be all the same. One size surely does not fit all. So it is with yoga.

At Yoga Vidya, we understand deeply that the group yoga sessions you may have attended elsewhere are only a means for broader access to the benefits of yoga, and nothing more.  What is different is the deep level of personalization that is being attempted here.

Quoting from the Hatha Yoga Pradipika -

युवो वॄद्धो|अतिवॄद्धो वा वयाधितो दुर्बलो|अपि वा |अभ्यासात्सिद्धिमाप्नोति सर्व-योगेष्ह्वतन्द्रितः || ६७ ||

One may be young, old, very old or diseased and weak. However, with consistent practice and effort, everything is attained.

Enjoy!
